Dogs that leave a paw print on your heart.

Rainbow Bridge

Here I share with you the pitter patter of tiny feet who have touched my heart and my life but has sadly passed over to wait for me at Rainbow Bridge.

A Poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Kenmilltri Fimba of Rosetanmeyer

Simba sadly passed away on the 14th December following the delivery of her second litter.  I will miss her terribly as I know the rest of the pack will also.  She was a true matriach figure to the group and a very soft and loving companion to me.  I will be keeping a girl from this litter and she is already proving to be a true tribute to her Mum and Dad.

Simba was my first Saint and once bitten, forever smitten.  I am proud to say I am a saint bernard junkie and just cant get enough.  Much to Dans despair.  I am sure there must be a 7 steps programme available to people with this addiction.  I think gambling may be cheaper, lol!!!  Simba was a soft cuddly pain in the bum.  She was totally adorable and fun-loving.  Very easy to please and just wanted love and pigs ears.  She was my sweetie, regardless of her lack of a 'tight pedigree', she was the best on the lead, the best behaved, the most obedient and the best kisser.  She was excellent with all dogs and children and her only crime was falling asleep on the wrong side of the gate so you couldn't escape.  She had a superb rough coat that really fuffed up lovely when she came from the groomers.  She was always in excellent health and had never given me cause to ring the vet.

Nero - Hanndav When In Rome For Rosetanmeyer

Sadly today, 2/11/09, we lost Nero aged only 27 months to an allergic reaction to a wasp sting.  It is a tragic and premature end to a lively and happy life and his loss will be very keenly felt.  Such a beautiful and good boy, a bright star to shine in heaven forever more.

Nero was so lovely and happy.  He was bouncy and full of fun and I was looking forward to sharing his life with him.  I cant express how happy my lovely big lad made me for the short time he was with me.  He was everything I thought he would be and more.  He was sired by Ch Poolsway No More Mr Nice Guy.  Nero and I attended our first show on the 26th January and he came 1st in his class and also came away with Best Puppy In Breed.  I was so proud of him for doing so well.   A big thank you to his breeder Diane and David from Dibrid Boxers for allowing me to have such a lovely boy in my kennels.  I know they were also proud of his accomplishments.  His Mum, Cassie and daughter India will remain here with me at Tabernya.

Joey, NuCh, NLch, Lux Youth Ch Big Saints Greater Than Great.

Joey sadly passed away on the 1st June 2009 aged 5 after a long battle with illness.  He was a sweet and loving character who will be missed dearly by me, and I know Peter and Ingrid are also very sad about his passing.  Rest in peace Joey.

Joey came to live with me and the pack from Peter and Ingrid of My Most Adorable kennel in Europe.  With their hard work and dedication Joey became a Dutch and Norwegian champion and a Luxumburg Youth Champion.  I am very greatful to them for allowing me the great honour of welcoming such a wonderfull dog into my kennel and my life.

 Joey proved himself to be a loving and giving person and was very calm and well behaved.  Joey will live on in our hearts forever

Am Ch Scandias Odin - 20.01.2003 - 22.01.2009

Odin was imported from Paul and Marina Boorsma (Scandia saint bernards Mn USA) by myself and Heather Rollo-Jones (Mawreddog) in the summer of 2008.  He lived here with me for the first couple of months and was a joy to own and love.  He was such a gentle giant, a real mummy's boy and was very sociable with all the other dogs.  He was truly the most wonderful of dogs and his temperament was second to none.  It was agreed after a short while that Heather would be his sole owner and he went to live with her.  Sadly he passed away suddenly early last year and left his family, breeders and myself devistated by the loss.  Even though he didn't live here at the end, it was still nice to know he was alive and well in the world.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but his children and grandchildren live on and he left a wonderful legacy.

Odin and I at the South Of England Saint Bernard Club Show

Esme

After Nahla and Cleo went poor Puss was lonesome so I was offered a kitten from a lady who had rescued the pregnant mother.  Esme came to live with us and she and Puss were good friends.  With having children in the house remembering names was a chore so Esme became 'Cat' and Ceaser became 'Puss' and he is called Puss so much I have to think hard to remember is real name!  Sadly, Cat was killed on the road outside my house during the time Jessicas 2007 litter was here.  Rest In Peace Cat.  Only indoor cats for me from now on!  I will stick to dogs only outside from now on.

Nahla and Cleo

I had always wanted a grey cat and after my poor Simba had passed over I felt a gap in my life.  I saw an advert 'free to good home' for this kitten.  I rang the lady and she said that there were two and they must go together.  So home they came.  Cleo, black and Nahla grey and white.  Cleo wasn't very old when a big greedy tom from goodness knows where was helping himself to the cat food and getting his oats while he was here too!   It wasn't long before three kittens were born.   One was as cold as ice and barely moving.  9 months pregnant as I was, and very cumbersome, I climbed through tools and garbage to reach Cleo who had hidden herself away from everyone and picked her up and carried her and her cold baby into the house.  I warmed the little fella up while Cleo gave birth to the other two.  I kept the first one who is now my 'Big Puss' and gave the other two away to a lady who took them both in.  Sadly, Cleo was killed on our road two weeks before the kittens went and Nahla died of a broken heart two weeks after Cleo.  Rest In peace girlies.

Joss Man

This Fella was for my Grandad who had always had English Springer Spaniels and in the wake of my Grans death needed company.  As a Navy man my grandad named him Joss Man meaning 'Master In Arms'.  However, the exuberance of a springer puppy was too much for him and he came to live with me.   At only 4 years old I was put in the very horrible position of having to have him PTS due to the uncharacteristic damage he caused to a neighbours sheep.   My beautiful, trusting boy is now chasing rabbits at Rainbow Bridge.  I hope he can forgive me.  Rest In Peace Joss Boss.

 Simba

Simba was my first ever kitten.  He moved into our new home on the same day we did.  His antics of climbing up the christmas tree and running around with a string of lamenta hanging out of his bum still make me smile to this day.  I think of him whenever I see the claw marks in my dining suit and remember the comfort of his purr on my shoulder.  Sadly, (unknown to me) on his first day outside on New Years Day 2001, Joss chased him up into the engine of my car.  I jumped in to go to work and drove 3 miles before he dropped out and I ran him over.  So traumatised was I, that I couldn't drive again for another week until I really HAD to.  My father-in-law was kind and tried to ease my guilt by saying he had a similar experience.  Rest In peace Simba-Roo
