Dan and I are married with three children and we are expecting twins at the end of the year. Our girls are Darcy, Ebony and Miley. We also run stretch limousines so between dogs, cars and kids our lives are pretty hectic. My dogs are my passion and I just love spending time with them. This is a 'not for profit' enterprise and any moneys raised by having a litter pays for food, vets, transport, casual help, kennel club fees, accomodation and so on. Anything that we are fotunate enough to have left over is ploughed back into the breed by importing new blood from abroad to improve the gene-pool in the UK.
You may know that I own the affix 'Rosetanmeyer'. This was my first affix but what I did not realise at the time of registering it is that when naming puppies you only have 24 letters to include your affix. This made naming pups very hard indeed so I have also registered the name 'Tabernya' to make my life easier. I will continue to maintain both names as all my dogs have Rosetanmeyer after their names, but will be practicing under my new affix. Dan holds the name Allsfair and some of the dogs are registered under this affix.
Dan has been an enormous help to me during the winter months when I was 'off duty' with Miley and he has taken a big interest in the dogs. What was my thing is now a shared excitement. It has only taken me 13 years to convert him but that is the power of persistence
I have lightly shown some of my boys and my dear departed Nero did very well at his first show which gave me the boost I needed to go on and show again. I have many plans to expand my kennels and introduce new blood lines. I have contact with nearly all of my puppy people and they send me pictures and texts of my babies as they have grown which is really lovely to see the fruits of my labour. All my dogs are very special to me and they all have a special place in my heart, even the pups that are now growing well and doing great with their new families. To own a Rosetanmeyer or a Tabernya pup is to make a new friend of the pup and of Me. I am there for the life of the dog and as a shoulder to cry on for the owners if their christmas cake burns or if the dog has a broken foot. My reasons for taking up the Saint breed were many but one of the main ones was to meet new people and to make new friends and I have a friend in each of my puppy people and that is important for the dog and for both myself and the new owners. I chose Saint Bernards as there is no other dog that even comes close to topping a saint. They are strong and benevolant by nature and have a soft and endearing quality that no other breed can bring in my opion. I love Danes, Newfies and Bernese Mountain dogs too, but for me, it had to be a bernard. And then two, then three, then four........ I dont know when it will end, and in a way I hope it doesn't. Owning and caring for a saint is a love affair that lasts a life time, and so it should. I also love my Labs. But labs are a different kind of passion. They are reminders of childhoods and fun and safety. All my dogs are my babies and will remain in my heart long after they have crossed over to Rainbow Bridge.
